Privacy & cookies.

Your privacy matters. This page explains what happens to information when you browse the Greystone Consulting website or get in touch, and how you can manage optional website analytics.

Effective: 4 November 2026For greystoneconsulting.eu

01. Who we are

This website, greystoneconsulting.eu, is operated by Shay Murphy, trading as Greystone Consulting, an independent technical consultancy based in Ireland. Greystone Consulting is part of the Púca Digital group of projects.

For the purposes of applicable data-protection law, the operator of Greystone Consulting is responsible for the personal data described in this policy (the data controller).

Privacy contact: connect@greystoneconsulting.eu.

02. Information we handle

Information you send us

If you email Greystone Consulting, we may receive your name, email address, organisation, telephone number (if provided), and the details you choose to include about your enquiry or project. The website currently uses an email link rather than an embedded contact form.

Technical website information

Like most websites, our hosting provider may process technical logs, which can include an IP address, requested pages, access date and time, browser information, error information and security events. These logs help deliver and protect the site.

Optional analytics information

When Google Analytics is enabled and you accept analytics cookies, we may receive reports about page views, visits, approximate location, device and browser types, referral sources and interactions with the website. Google Analytics uses identifiers that can be personal data under GDPR; reports are generally aggregated.

03. How and why we use information

We process personal information only for legitimate purposes and on an appropriate legal basis:

  • Responding to enquiries — to communicate with you, discuss a possible service or take steps you request before entering a contract. The legal basis is contractual necessity or our legitimate interests in managing business enquiries, depending on the circumstances.
  • Operating and securing the website — to troubleshoot problems, maintain access and respond to misuse, based on our legitimate interests in operating a secure website.
  • Understanding website visits — optional Google Analytics, used only after your consent, to understand and improve the website.
  • Legal obligations — where records must be kept or disclosed under applicable law.

We do not use the website to sell visitor information or run behavioural advertising. We do not operate a newsletter sign-up on this website at present.

04. Google Analytics & cookies

The website is prepared to use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), operated by Google, to measure overall site usage. It is optional: the supplied setup is designed not to load the Google Analytics tag unless you choose Accept analytics. If analytics has not yet been configured, no analytics tag is loaded by this setup.

Analytics cookies can recognise a browser between visits and help us understand site performance. These are not strictly necessary cookies and will not be set by the supplied setup without your consent.

The exact cookies present may vary with Google's updates and any later changes to our configuration. You can withdraw or change your analytics choice using the control, also available in the site footer.

Rejecting analytics does not prevent you from using the website or emailing us. The site can still work with necessary hosting and security technologies.

For more about Google's use of data, see Google's Privacy Policy.

05. Who information may be shared with

Information may be handled by our web-hosting and email providers for site delivery and communications, and by Google if you consent to analytics. We may also share information with professional advisers or competent authorities when necessary and lawful.

Some providers, including Google, may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where such transfers occur, applicable safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses are used as appropriate.

Links to third-party websites, including Púca Digital, lead to websites with their own privacy practices.

06. How long we keep information

We retain enquiries and correspondence only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, manage an ongoing business relationship, resolve queries, or meet legal or record-keeping obligations. The appropriate period depends on the enquiry and whether a project proceeds.

Hosting access and security logs are retained according to the hosting provider's configuration and security needs. Google Analytics data retention depends on the settings of the connected GA4 property; these should be checked when Analytics is activated. Browser cookies and analytics consent preferences have the lifetimes described above.

07. Your data protection rights

Subject to the conditions in the GDPR, you may ask to access, correct or erase your personal data, restrict or object to its processing, and receive portable data where applicable. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Please email connect@greystoneconsulting.eu to make a request. You can also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission.

08. Contact and policy updates

This policy may be updated if our website, services or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
